In 2013, we noticed nonprofits often struggled with overwhelming legal requirements and complexities, but had few places to turn. More than that, the lawyers who did offer services often charged double or triple what most nonprofits could afford.

Our attorneys set out to change that. Charitable Allies, a nonprofit legal aid law firm, was created in 2013 by nonprofit professionals and lawyers who wanted to fill the gap. Charitable Allies focuses exclusively on serving and supporting nonprofits and their stakeholders. As a nonprofit organization ourselves, we understand the unique challenges that nonprofit organizations face.

We regularly publish free educational resources for nonprofit leaders on our blog. You can find video content on our YouTube channel, Instagram or Facebook. We also send out more educational content through our newsletter.

We serve tax exempt organizations, primarily 501(c)(3) public charities, but we also have clients that fall under other tax exempt categories like 501c4 or 501c6 as well. Our client range in mission from churches to animal shelters to food pantries and everything in between. We serve nonprofits in all 50 states. Most of our clients are in the small to mid sized range in terms of revenue, as this is the group most likely to need our services and be “priced out” by the rates of large for-profit firms.
